Arsenal secured a 2-1 victory over Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on a special evening for the fans.
Gabriel Magalhaes is a major doubt for Real Madrid after the defender pulled up with a hamstring injury early in the game to add to Mikel Arteta’s injury woes this season.
Jurrien Timber also came off late on with knee trouble and defensive numbers now look short ahead of the crucial Champions League clash.
Mikel Merino continued his fine form in front of goal with the opener and Rodrigo Muniz snatched a late consolation but sandwiched in between was the moment Arsenal had been waiting for as Bukayo Saka scored on his return.

Bukayo Saka sends heartfelt message to Arsenal fans
After the game, Arteta praised a ‘beautiful’ moment for Saka as his header proved to be the decisive moment in securing three points for the Gunners.
It was a fitting way to mark his first appearance since December 2024 and the Hale End star took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message with supporters. He stated: “…Like we never left. Thank you [heart emoji]”
A number of Saka’s team mates commented on the post, including fellow goal scorer Merino, who stated: “Happy for you my man!” whilst Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard both shared heart emojis.
The England international will now be hoping to build further minutes against Everton in the next fixture before a possible return from the start against Real Madrid.
Declan Rice praised the return of Saka
Speaking to Sky Sports after the win, fellow Arsenal and England team mate Rice was full of praise for the returning Saka.
Rice stated: “The reception speaks for itself and that’s why he’s one of the best wingers in the world because he always attacks the box and sniffs where the goal is going to be.”
Arsenal will now be hoping to come through a tough test at Goodison Park unscathed before the visit of Carlo Ancelotti’s side to the Emirates Stadium.
With Saka back and firing it certainly boosts the Gunners chances of knocking out the defending champions but the club know they will need some good news on the fitness front in the coming days.
