Norway stunned Brazil with a 2-0 Round of 16 win and delivered one of the tournament’s best performances.

After the match, Ancelotti was full of praise for the Norwegian team and was particularly impressed by one of his former Real Madrid players, Odegaard.

Carlo Ancelotti’s praise for Martin Odegaard

Carlo Ancelotti claims that Arsenal and Norway captain Martin Odegaard’s pressing from the front made it so difficult for Brazil.

The Arsenal midfielder worked relentlessly against Brazil, and his efforts were rewarded with a 2-0 win over the South American giants.

Odegaard had a mixed game in possession, but his work off the ball is what made life so tricky for Brazil, according to Ancelotti.

After the match, Ancelotti told the media: “It was very difficult to press high because Norway kept so many players behind the ball and relied heavily on Odegaard.”

Neymar Jr was also spotted embracing the 28-year-old following his superb display for the Norwegian national team.

Meanwhile, Bruno Guimaraes also spoke highly of Odegaard before the game, showing just how well-respected he is in football.

Arsenal must reverse Martin Odegaard sale decision

Currently, Arsenal have listed Odegaard for sale, and he has been strongly linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Mikel Arteta is against selling Odegaard, and he now needs to overrule the club’s decision to consider offers for their captain.

The North London club cannot afford to lose a player who is so important to them both in and out of possession.

His impact off the bench should have been enough to prove why selling him would just be such a crazy call to make.

Arsenal already look set to lose Leandro Trossard, who could join Besiktas, and they cannot afford to lose another key player from their title-winning squad.
