Arsenal are preparing for a visit of London rivals Chelsea in what is always a huge occasion when the Blues visit the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal’s title hopes may now be a distant memory but there is still the job to do of qualifying for next season’s Champions League for Mikel Arteta’s side and three points against Chelsea would be a huge step in securing that.
Fans were impressed with Raheem Sterling against PSV in their European victory at the Emirates Stadium however the winger cannot play against his parent club in the upcoming Premier League clash.
Sterling is far from the only player to have represented both clubs in recent years, Jorginho and Kai Havertz have also moved across London and another former star for both teams once spoke about a stark difference between Arsenal and Chelsea.

Cesc Fabregas revealed why Chelsea were better than Arsenal
Cesc Fabregas was Arsenal captain before moving to Barcelona and then on to Chelsea, becoming yet another player to have represented both the Gunners and Chelsea.
As Per the Telegraph back in 2020, the Spanish midfielder opened up on his time at both clubs and discussed the biggest difference as to why he was more successful in West London over North.
Fabregas stated: “Some teams I played in at Arsenal and Chelsea were similar in terms of talent, but the difference I felt straightaway is that at Chelsea we were ruthless.
“At Arsenal there were fantastic, top, top players, but at Chelsea we didn’t really care if one day we had to win 1-0 by not touching the ball for the whole match.”

Having won multiple honours across his time at Barcelona and with his national side Spain, Fabregas knew what it took to win major trophies but blamed himself for failing to do so at a talented Arsenal side under Arsene Wenger.
Fabregas explained: “At Arsenal, and it was maybe partly my fault at some point as the leader and captain that I was, sometimes we forgot that to win leagues and Champions Leagues, you need to win ugly.
“When I was young I always wanted to play the beautiful game, but there are always five or six games a season that you need to struggle but win. At Chelsea we did that. We were very competitive and very experienced. That’s the main difference.”
Fabregas deserved more trophies at Arsenal
Fabregas changed Wenger’s approach to football according to former team mate Thierry Henry given how comfortable on the ball he was in midfield and how he could dictate games by himself.
The Spanish World Cup winner only won the FA Cup in his time at the Gunners despite coming close to further honours on many occasions.
| Cesc Fabregas Arsenal career | Number |
| Appearances | 303 |
| Goals | 57 |
| Assists | 94 |
His intelligence on the ball and ability to create and score goals in the final third made him one of Wenger’s outstanding players during his managerial reign and should have had more trophies to his name before moving to Barcelona.
Fabregas never won the Champions League in his career and would have never have come closer than when he was part of an Arsenal side that lost 2-1 in 2006, ironically to Barcelona.
