Robbie Earle has urged Chelsea to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Aaron Ramsdale has lost his starting spot at Arsenal.
Summer loan signing David Raya is now Mikel Arteta’s No. 1 choice between the sticks at the Emirates Stadium.
Although the Spanish shot-stopper endured something of a nightmare against Chelsea last time out, he does seem to be a better tactical fit for how Arteta wants his team to play.
As for Ramsdale, his hopes of challenging to be the England No. 1 ahead of EURO 2024 are now hanging by a thread.
The 25-year-old has recently discussed, in an interview with The Guardian, how the loss of his place at Arsenal has effected him. Though, it is doubtful that speaking out in such a manner will have aided his cause.
Ramsdale is unlikely to stick around at the Emirates Stadium for long if he feels that he stands little chance of getting the starting spot back. The £120,000-a-week player is a top class goalkeeper and needs to be playing regularly at this stage in his career.

The future of Aaron Ramsdale an issue hanging over Arsenal
With that in mind, former Wimbledon midfielder Robbie Earle has suggested that Chelsea would be wise to make a move for the Arsenal outcast.
Speaking on the The 2 Robbies podcast, the 58-year-old said, “if I’m Chelsea, I’m phoning up and saying I’ll take Ramsdale, give me Ramsdale my friend. If you’re not going to use him, because Ramsdale is at the level you’re talking about.”
“Ramsdale’s talking about he’ll have to go and play somewhere if he’s going to be in the Euros. If he’s overlooked by Arteta – I don’t know why Arteta wants the two goalkeepers and all that, and we’ve heard all the reasons behind it – if I’m Chelsea right now, I’d go and put it amongst them. I’d take Ramsdale because he’s at the level you’re talking about that Chelsea need.”
Ramsdale would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea, especially given how unconvincing Robert Sanchez has been for the Blues so far. However, Arsenal must have reservations about strengthening a rival in such a manner.
Ramsdale would also need replacing. Karl Hein is not yet ready to be the north London club’s second choice.
On top of that, many would hate to see Ramsdale leave the club in the first place. He is a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium.
Whatever the outcome, a clear plan needs to be put in place for Ramsdale’s future soon.
