Conor Gallagher says he’d choose Arsenal star over Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah has been one of the most spoken about players in the Premier League this season, but not entirely for the right reasons.

Salah’s fallout at Liverpool was groundbreaking, with the Egyptian now at AFCON with things seemingly unresolved back at Anfield.

The situation is staggering considering that Salah almost single-handedly won Liverpool the title last season, racking up 47 goal contributions.

For Arsenal, it’s somewhat fortunate that Salah has fallen well short of his expected level this term, as Mikel Arteta’s side wouldn’t want to be battling the Liverpool star and Erling Haaland in the title race.

If you could change one thing at Arsenal right now to guarantee the Premier League title, what would it be and why?

Conor Gallagher thinks Bukayo Saka is better than Mohamed Salah

Arsenal would love to have a player like one of Salah and Haaland who can guarantee double figures in the Premier League.

The last time that an Arsenal player surpassed the 40-goal contribution mark in a Premier League season was in 2002/03, when Thierry Henry recorded 44.

Right now, Arsenal’s top scorer in the league is Viktor Gyokeres on five, making it surprising that Arteta has just been told that he has a player even better than Salah in his ranks.

Speaking on ESPN UK’s TikTok, former Chelsea star Conor Gallagher was asked to play a game of this or that, which was when he was asked who was better: Salah or Bukayo Saka

“Saka,” Gallagher responded without any thought, confidently backing the England international as his preference.

Saka has been so good for Arsenal this season, but he’s lacking in the goals and assists department, still having fewer than Salah.

That didn’t deter Gallagher from choosing the Arsenal academy graduate over Liverpool’s superstar, which should fill the Gunners with joy.

Important differences between Saka and Salah

What’s important to remember in the discussion is that Salah is nine years older than Saka, possessing a lot more experience in a variety of leagues.

Added to that, there’s another unspoken difference between Saka and Salah, and that is that the Egyptian doesn’t have to tend to defensive duties at Liverpool.

Will Bukayo Saka ever reach Mohamed Salah’s level in the Premier League?

Naturally, that would free a winger up to offer more going forward, making the matter of Salah’s numbers being greater than Saka’s unsurprising.

That being said, there’s a stark difference between the numbers the two players have been producing in the Premier League, raising the question as to whether Saka can reach Salah’s level.

Arsenal need to see more goals from their winger, that is certain, and with plenty of football to be played, there’s every chance that the 24-year-old will deliver.
