Arsenal’s summer signing Cristhian Mosquera has been impressed by what he’s seen from Bukayo Saka so far.

Mosquera has impressed at Arsenal early in his career in the Premier League.

The centre-back made the difficult decision to leave his boyhood club to sign for the Gunners in the summer, a career choice that has, so far, paid off.

Having played for Valencia and challenged some of the best the world has to offer in La Liga, there was no chance of Mosquera being spellbound by his new teammates, but he’s certainly been impressed by what he’s seen at Arsenal.

Cristhian Mosquera describes Bukayo Saka in one word

Mosquera isn’t afraid of battling Gabriel Magalahes and William Saliba for game time, despite calling Mikel Arteta’s centre-back duo ‘world class’.

The Spaniard had high praise for his new teammates and has since spoken highly of another member of the Arsenal squad.

In a TikTok for The Athletic, Mosquera was asked to describe various players with one word, and his response when asked about Bukayo Saka was surprising.

“Strong,” Mosquera said when describing Saka, giving a brief insight into what it’s like to defend against the Arsenal academy product in training.

Saka is commonly described as a game-changer and one of Arsenal’s most skilful and speedy players, but the winger is rarely called strong.

That doesn’t mean to say that Mosquera’s depiction of his teammate was wrong; it just merely adds to the list of reasons why Saka is so crucial to the Gunners’ attack.

Saka’s strength was noticed at Hale End

Everyone now knows that Saka is a mesmeric talent in the wide areas, but some saw the 24-year-old’s potential as early as U11 level.

In an interview with Arsenal’s official website, former head of youth development, Liam Brady, interestingly noted how strong Saka was even at that age.

“I remember him at that age. He was always very fast, but muscular with it, powerful, and as he got older, he quickly added the football intelligence that you need at the top level.”

Fast-forward to now, and Saka is one of the best in the world on the right wing, thriving at his boyhood club.

There are so many elements to the winger’s game that make him the player that he is, one of which is strength, an essential trait that is noticed by his teammates.
