Cristhian Mosquera has had a great start to life at Arsenal.
The Spaniard was signed from Valencia for just £13 million, and he has filled in for William Saliba spectacularly well.
Many Arsenal fans feel Mosquera has been the best bargain signing of the summer, but it’s not just the supporters who have been impressed by him.
It looks like fellow Arsenal stars have also been blown away by the 21-year-old defender.
Arsenal players are surprised that Cristhian Mosquera plays for Spain U21s
Cristhian Mosquera made his senior debut for Valencia when he was just 17 years of age.
That is very rare to see among centre-backs, but the Spaniard impressed and went on to make 90 appearances for Los Che.
Mosquera made his Spain debut at the Olympics last year, but apart from that, he has never been called up by their senior national team.
Ahead of the international break, the 21-year-old has revealed that many of his Arsenal teammates asked who he would be facing with Spain.
When his response was that he only plays for the U21s, everyone was shocked.
Mosquera told The Athletic: “My (club) team-mates ask me: ‘Who are you playing against now (in international breaks)?’ And when I tell them I’m going with the U21s, they’re surprised.
“But I take it in my stride. Playing for the U21s is also a privilege and helps me get a lot of playing time.”

Spain could lose Cristhian Mosquera if they keep snubbing him
Spain have several excellent defenders in their ranks.
From experienced names like Aymeric Laporte and Robin Le Normand to young talents like Pau Cubrasi and Dean Huijsen, they have a lot of options.
Mosquera is a tremendous talent and deserves an opportunity with the Spanish national team. If he doesn’t, the Arsenal defender could switch allegiances.
Reports have claimed that ahead of the World Cup next year, Mosquera has been offered a chance to represent Colombia, with his parents hailing from there.
If Spain boss Luis de la Fuente doesn’t call him up in the near future, we won’t be surprised at all to see Mosquera opt to play for Colombia.
