Arsenal are starting to click into gear in the Premier League this season.

Indeed, the Gunners’ 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday was as comprehensive a victory as you’re likely to see this season.

The Gunners were fantastic at the weekend, and Noni Madueke was one star performer on the day.

Indeed, Madueke was fantastic against Forest, and many have pondered what this means for his role in this team going forwards.

Bukayo Saka is arguably Arsenal’s most important player, but there’s an argument to be made that Saka could lose his place to Madueke if he keeps this up.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Darren Bent has been discussing the idea of Madueke displacing Saka, and he’s shared a differing view.

Darren Bent says Noni Madueke will have to drop to the bench

Bent says that, sadly, once Bukayo Saka is back fit and firing, Noni Madueke will have to drop back to the bench.

In fact, Bent went as far as to claim that it’s ‘crazy’ that some have suggested that Saka could lose his place in this side.

“Unfortunately, Madueke would have to go on the bench. Eze stays left, Saka on the right. Because all these people saying Saka should worry, that’s crazy. You’ve been doing it for like five years in a row,” Bent said.

Noni Madueke compared to Bukayo Saka

Madueke is in great form right now, but you can’t allow that to detract from what has been years’ worth of great performances from Bukayo Saka.

Indeed, Saka is a world-class player, and throughout his career, he has consistently outperformed Madueke.

Ultimately, you have to go with the tried and tested option, and that is Saka.

Of course, if Madueke continues playing in this way, he could eventually displace Saka, but it’s not worth having this sort of discussion after just a few games worth of good form.
