Arsenal are heading into their latest Premier League clash with Newcastle United knowing that three points are a must.
A defeat to Liverpool earlier in the campaign, followed by dropped points at home to Manchester City has left the Gunners five points behind their title rivals already at this early stage.
Mikel Arteta’s side will know that they cannot afford for that gap to widen given Liverpool’s formidable run of form and attacking options at their disposal.
Arsenal themselves have strengthened their attack considerably but former player David Bentley believes that one former Manchester United striker would be the ideal player for the current side.

David Bentley thinks Arsenal would win the Premier League with Wayne Rooney
Speaking to talkSPORT, Bentley has revealed his belief that the current Arsenal side would win the Premier League this season if they had former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
Arteta has come under criticism for his selection in a number of big matches so far this campaign and Bentley thinks that Rooney in his prime would elevate the Gunners to landing their first title since 2004.
Bentley stated: “And to see him to see Wayne I mean he’s incredible. He was an animal. He was just a machine you know he would lift people in training.
“He’s aggressive. He was unbelievable technically gifted as well which which is one of his greatest assets of how technically gifted he was. But he had that attitude to take the game by the scruff of the neck.
“I mean, if Arsenal had him in his in their team, you’d see a he’d get, but he going, “Give me the ball. I’m going to go and I’m going to go and win us the league.” I mean, that’s what he had.”
Rooney praised Arteta for his substitutions against Manchester City that earned the Gunners a late point, however the Spaniard is yet to show that he really knows his best attacking line up.
Fans will be desperate to see Eberechi Eze in the starting XI for the trip to St James’s Park to give a more creative feel to the team moving forward.
Kai Havertz’s return from injury will be significant boost for Arsenal
With Viktor Gyokeres still finding his feet in the Premier League, Arsenal will be desperate for the return of German international Kai Havertz.
Havertz underwent knee surgery after the opening game at Old Trafford but is hoping to be back as soon as possible to give some added impetus to the Gunners’ attack.

Gyokeres is finding it difficult to fashion space and chances for himself, whereas Havertz is equipped to occupy both centre backs and provide openings for his teammates.
There is also a sense that the duo could be used up top together as Arteta continues to make tactical tweaks as the season progresses.
