Arsenal are ready to host Liverpool in the Premier League as Arne Slot’s side visit the Emirates on match day nine.

The pressure is on Mikel Arteta’s side to return to winning ways in the league after suffering a shock defeat to Bournemouth.

Against the Cherries, the Gunners were far from their best, with matters not made easier by William Saliba’s red card.

The Frenchman will join a list of absences from Arsenal’s favoured XI to face Liverpool on Sunday, in what is poised to be a blockbuster clash.

David Raya previews Arsenal vs Liverpool

Arteta would have wanted more of his first team players available for the game however, excuses will not want to be heard around the Arsenal camp.

That is the message coming from Colney, as goalkeeper David Raya shared an insight into what the squad are thinking ahead of facing Liverpool.

“They’re [Liverpool] in a good momentum, they haven’t conceded a lot of goals, they are creating a lot of chances, scoring a lot of goals,” Raya said to Sky Sports.

The Arsenal shot-stopper made it clear that Arsenal understand the threat they will face in Liverpool, but reinforced how confident his side are ahead of the game.

“They’re a hell of a team but I think we are at home, we know what we can pull off.

“We have that belief that togetherness that we’re going to go on Sunday and win the game. What is said on the outside, we’re not interested.”

Raya showed his determination and passion to win the game prior to the Premier League blockbuster, with every bit of belief that the Gunners will keep the three points at the Emirates.

Raya needs a big game against Liverpool

After a dramatic first season at Arsenal, where talk was constantly surrounding Aaron Ramsdale’s future, Raya has reached another level this campaign.

Now that the Englishman has departed, the Spain international has understood the requirements that come with being Arsenal’s number one, showing an impeccable boost in form.

Numerous times already this season, Raya has ensured that Arsenal remain in a game due to his presence between the sticks, with few tests coming as difficult as keeping Liverpool at bay.

After a disappointing evening for all involved at Bournemouth, Raya and his teammates will be eager to right their wrongs in the league against Liverpool.
