Arsenal will host newly promoted side Sheffield United at the Emirates today, and goalkeeping legend David Seaman has now given his verdict on what the score will be.

Seaman made over 400 appearances for Arsenal across 13 years, and made arguably the best save of his career against today’s opponents in an FA Cup semi-final.

The former England number one is still often seen at Arsenal, and he has backed his old side to gain victory against Sheffield United.

David Seaman backs Arsenal to win

Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, the Arsenal legend claimed that The Gunners would secure a victory and a clean sheet, and when asked what the score would be, he stated “2-0.”

Arsenal have kept just one clean sheet at the Emirates this season, but that came in their last game, against the Champions Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta will be without Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey, and he could be set to shuffle his pack following a tough away victory at Sevilla in the Champions League.

Do Arsenal need to win big?

Arsenal have been criticised at times for not attacking with the same fluidity as last season, and are yet to score a goal in the first 15 minutes of any Premier League game this season.

With Sheffield United also potentially missing nine players, today’s game will be a great chance to lay down a marker and secure a victory by a bigger scoreline at home.

If Arsenal do win 2-0 as Seaman has predicted, then the critics may not disappear, and this will be a good opportunity for a player such as Kai Havertz to increase his goal tally, as the summer signing is yet to score an open play goal.

Arsenal fans at the Emirates would be eager to see their side secure a convincing victory over the Blades, who are yet to win since gaining promotion last season.
