David Seaman has tipped Aaron Ramsdale to improve if Arsenal sign David Raya, with the Brentford keeper closing in on a move to north London.
Speaking to TalkSport, the Arsenal legend has predicted the England international to see Raya’s potential arrival as a chance to take his goalkeeping abilities to a new level, with Raya set to join the Gunners.
The Spanish international has emerged as a surprise target for Arsenal in recent days with Mikel Arteta seemingly intent on bringing the Brentford star to the Emirates to challenge Ramsdale for the no. 1 shirt.

Why Pele Is Overrated.
With the 25-year-old Arsenal star one of the club’s most important players, the decision to sign a goalkeeper who is just as good as Ramsdale has come off as a weird move for many fans.
However, Seaman sees the transfer as a chance for Ramsdale to improve his game, with the England international likely to push himself with the arrival of Raya at Arsenal.

Seaman said: “You get a chance to show in training what you can do and sort of standard you need to get to, and I’m sure that’s what Aaron will do. I have no doubt that Aaron will take this competition on, and it’ll definitely make him a better keeper.”
Ramsdale can beat Raya to Arsenal’s no. 1 shirt

Ramsdale is a player who is no stranger to adversity, with the goalkeeper’s Arsenal career being judged before the former Sheffield United man had even signed for the club in 2021.
However, two years later, Ramsdale has emerged as one of the best keepers in the Premier League and the natural replacement for Jordan Pickford for England, and Raya signing for Arsenal will be seen as just another challenge.
Yet as Ramsdale has proved time and time again, he is likely to come out on top in this latest battle for the Arsenal no. 1 spot, with Raya likely to push the Englishman to another level.
