After a fractious 2-2 draw away to Manchester City, Arsenal will now be turning their attention to the new week and two games at home in N5.
Arsenal welcome Bolton Wanderers to the Emirates Stadium in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, opposition they used to face in the Premier League.
Nicklas Bendtner scored the winner when Arsenal beat Bolton 1-0 back in 2009, with the Dane’s strike finally arriving in the 84th minute.
Of course, the fixture has a very different complexion in 2024, with Bolton now playing in League One.
That being said, Mikel Arteta will have the opportunity to hand chances to one or two youngsters in the cup tie.
Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have often featured in Arteta’s senior squads of late, with the latter making his Premier League debut on Sunday.
Myles Lewis-Skelly applauded by Arsenal teammates after Premier League debut
Aged 17, Hale End Academy graduate Lewis-Skelly came on as a left-back for Arteta in the closing moments against Man City, showing his composure on the ball in one moment.
Predominantly a central midfielder in his youth career, the youngster is now being moulded into an inverted full-back, a path Oleksandr Zinchenko went down later in his career.

That being said, after making his league debut, Lewis-Skelly took to Instagram to celebrate on Monday.
Lewis-Skelly uploaded a collection of photos, including one of him as a youngster wearing an away kit once adorned by the likes of Alexis Sanchez.
Alongside the photos, Lewis-Skelly wrote: “Proud to make my Premier League debut for our club.
“This is only the start, but I am very grateful to this team, our fans, my family and everyone at Hale End and Colney.”
As you may expect, the likes of Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka replied to the youngster, with the former writing: “deserved.”

Raheem Sterling to lead out the youngsters vs Bolton
Of course, it won’t just be Arsenal’s young players who will be hoping for a chance on Wednesday – Raheem Sterling is still waiting on his full debut.
The England international seems likely to start alongside both Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly, who will likely be captained by Jorginho or Gabriel Jesus.
David Raya may also need a rest in the fixture.
Raya was spotted limping out of the Etihad on Sunday, seen with some strapping on his knee.
But with Neto cup-tied, who has already played for Bournemouth in the competition, Arsenal may have to turn to a youngster in net.
