Arsenal walked away from the Etihad Stadium with a point against Manchester City and another injury concern.
Mikel Arteta’s side were agonisingly close to securing their first win at the Etihad since 2015, defending a 2-1 lead for the entire second half with only 10 men.
Leandro Trossard was sent off just before the interval, making Arteta’s team talk something different to his side simply defending their advantage.
Just as the game looked as though it was miraculously won, John Stones netted City’s equaliser, with the late goal not the only negative coming from the fixture for Arsenal.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya spotted limping after Man City draw
Defending a slim lead at the home of the champions is not for the faint hearted, as Arsenal displayed with a valiant effort.
The Gunners had to resort to some tactics of the dark arts to win some time, with David Raya going down several times on the pitch.
While fans in the Etihad fumed at the Spaniards’ assumed time wasting, it’s now become clear that the goalkeeper might not have been running down the clock.
Mail Sport shared a video on X of Raya limping after the contest at the Etihad, spotted with a bandage on his leg, which will be a huge concern for Arsenal.
Arteta already travelled to the Etihad without his captain Martin Odegaard and an injured Ben White, with there no room for Arsenal to accommodate another first team injury.
Raya is essential for Arsenal
While Odegaard’s presence can be replaced with another attacker, there is simply no replacement for the form that Raya is in right now.
Arsenal secured the signing of Neto from Bournemouth on deadline day, which adds needed depth after Aaron Ramsdale’s departure however, Raya is in unstoppable form at present.
In every game in the 2024/25 calendar so far, the Spain international has pulled off a remarkable save, with his double penalty save against Atalanta being the latest.
It would be a massive shame for Arteta to lose his star ‘keeper at this time, with Raya saving Arsenal on numerous occasions already this term.
