Declan Rice has just called Viktor Gyokeres ‘my striker’ following his two goals against Tottenham Hotspur.

Rather embarrassingly for Spurs, Viktor Gyokeres has scored 134 domestic goals since Arsenal last lost to their bitter rivals.

Gyokeres superbly added two more to his impressive tally away at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and it’s clear his teammates are delighted for him.

After the match, Rice took to Instagram to share a picture with him and Gyokeres, along with the caption: “Big Glock! My striker”.

Behind the scenes at Arsenal, Gyokeres is very well-liked, and the players have been working hard to ensure that he eventually reaches his potential.

There is a strong case to be made that Arsenal players have not been playing to Gyokeres’ strengths; however, away at Spurs, they may have just learned how to get the best from him.

The striker managed 42 touches, won five duels, created one big chance, and managed a total of four efforts at goal.

Mikel Arteta says Viktor Gyokeres was incredible for Arsenal

After the match, Arteta claimed that Gyokeres was incredible for Arsenal and that it was his best display for the Gunners to date.

“I think so, I think his overall play was incredible, the efficiency of the goals that he scored was. He was really, really good today,” Arteta told Sky Sports.
