Arsenal star Declan Rice produced a fine performance against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

The Gunners went into the second-leg at the Emirates with a 7-1 lead. Only a miracle was going to stop them from qualifying – everybody knew that.

However, despite the huge advantage, Rice put in a professional performance in the middle of the park, and his efforts were rewarded as well.

The former West Ham man scored Arsenal’s second goal after getting on the end of Raheem Sterling’s cross. That’s now two goals in two games for the England international.

After getting on the score sheet, Rice’s celebration became a hot topic of discussion on social media.

Declan Rice explains his celebration during Arsenal vs PSV

Almost everyone in football who is not associated with Arsenal seems to have an opinion about everything that goes on at the club.

Pundits often blow things out of proportion when it comes to the Gunners, while rival fans on social media go overboard at times as well.

That happened at the weekend again, after Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Rice scored the equaliser in the second half, and the midfielder ran towards the travelling Arsenal fans to celebrate his strike.

That led to a ton of criticism, with several people mocking the England international for celebrating an equaliser instead of rushing back to try and win the game.

Against PSV in the Champions League, after scoring, Rice ran in the direction of the corner flag. But, he gestured that there will be no celebrations and returned to his own half.

After the game, Rice took to Instagram to explain his actions with a four-word message: “No celebration police tonight!”

Arsenal fans react to Declan Rice’s celebration

Arsenal fans were not happy to see the criticism directed at Rice after his goal against Manchester United at the weekend.

All the loyal ones defended him then, and they all loved the way he silenced the ‘celebration police’ after scoring against PSV on Wednesday night.

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Declan Rice pretending he can’t celebrate and ran straight back to the centre circle, after he received criticism for his celebration against Manchester United. What a guy!”

Another wrote: “That Rice celebration has finished me!”

“Gotta love Rice’s ‘celebration’ for the goal,” tweeted another Gooner.
