Didier Drogba was certainly a thorn in Arsenal’s side over the years whilst playing for Chelsea, often getting the better of Arsene Wenger’s sides.
In 15 games against Arsenal, Drogba scored a remarkable 13 goals, proving what a nuisance he often was in north London.
Drogba is up there among the likes of Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney in terms of players who have netted against Arsenal the most in the Premier League.
Of course, Arsenal have also had some prolific goalscorers themselves over the years, with Thierry Henry the obvious stand-out name.
Didier Drogba says Thierry Henry was ‘different’ for Arsenal
That being said, when speaking to Goal recently, Drogba was asked to rank legendary Premier League strikers, most of whom he played against or with.
Drogba was initially asked to pick between Rooney or Fernando Torres, deciding to go with his former Chelsea partner.

In fact, the striker then chose Torres ahead of Dimitar Berbatov, Robin van Persie and Erling Haaland.
However, Torres’ reign came to an abrupt end when Henry’s name was mentioned.
When justifying his selection of Torres over the previous four names Drogba said: “I will always pick my teammate.”
However, he then admitted it was a ‘different’ case when the Arsenal legend came into the frame.
Drogba said: “Thierry is different so, Thierry, yes.”
How does Thierry Henry compare to Fernando Torres?
Arsenal fans won’t need reminding of just how good Henry was during his time in north London.
However, it is interesting to compare his Premier League record to Torres’, who also left a huge mark on English football.
| Thierry Henry | Fernando Torres | |
| Appearances | 258 | 212 |
| Goals | 175 | 85 |
| Assists | 75 | 34 |
| PL titles | 2 | 0 |
It’s remarkable to think that Henry only cost Arsenal £11m in 1999, even if that was a record breaking deal at the time.
Henry followed Davor Suker to the club who signed from Real Madrid, with Wenger attempting to revamp his front line.
Of course, Arsenal are interested in signing a striker right now, with one deal now being explored ahead of the January transfer window.
Kai Havertz has been compared to Henry of late, but the same can’t quite be said for Gabriel Jesus.
