Eberechi Eze fulfilled his lifelong dream of playing for the Arsenal first team in the summer.
The England international has been a Gooner since he was a kid and was even part of the club’s youth setup until the age of 13.
Eze cried for a week when Arsenal released him at the time, but it all worked out for him in the end as the Gunners re-signed him from Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.
The versatile forward is loving life at the Emirates now, and one player seems to have surprised him – Jurrien Timber.

Eberechi Eze says Arsenal star Jurrien Timber is even better than he thought
Arsenal signed Timber from Ajax in the summer of 2023.
After an impressive pre-season, everyone was looking forward to how the Dutchman would fare in the Premier League, but he suffered a serious knee injury on his debut.
The defender missed almost the whole season as a result, but since the start of the last campaign, he has been one of the best right-backs in the world.
Eberechi Eze was more than aware of Timber’s ability before he joined Arsenal, but the Englishman has revealed that he has been surprised.
Speaking to Adebayo Akinfenwa on the Beast Mode On podcast, Eze said: “Everyone is sort of what you expect them to be. And the expectation of all the players is high.
“I would say one player that has gone even beyond the high expectations that I already had, because I’d heard good things about him, is Jurrien Timber.
“He’s a special player and a special guy.
“I think for me, you’re in an environment of people, and you have a culture that is geared towards improving, and these guys all want to improve. For me, it’s a pleasure to be part of it and to see guys like him, who perform the way they perform, carry themselves the way they carry themselves. It’s inspiring, for sure.”
Jurrien Timber has improved a lot in one area at Arsenal
Arsenal have two top-class right-backs in Timber and Ben White.
Until last season, fans would have said that the Englishman was much better in attack, while the former Ajax man was superior in defensive one-v-one situations.
However, since the start of this season, Timber has looked incredible going forward too. He has combined well with Bukayo Saka on the right flank and is causing opposition defenders all sorts of problems.
That has made him a complete defender, and in our opinion, Timber is the best right-back in world football right now.
