Eberechi Eze has revealed that he is still adjusting to the rigours of playing almost twice a week at Arsenal and the limited time to train.

Over the last few weeks, Eze’s dream move to Arsenal has not gone quite to plan, with the winger not being given a consistent run in the team.

The 27-year-old has not started in any of Arsenal’s last nine Premier League matches and seems to have fallen out of favour with Mikel Arteta.

However, Eze insists that he is still loving life at the Emirates Stadium and is loving the challenge of two games a week with the Gunners.

Eberechi Eze on Arsenal training

Eberechi Eze says he is still getting used to everything being built up to matches at Arsenal rather than regular sessions due to fixture congestion.

Competing in four competitions means that the Gunners are playing twice a week most weeks, unlike at Crystal Palace, where Eze will have had more time to prepare for each game.

This is the winger’s first season competing in Europe, and perhaps the different demands have meant he is taking more time to adjust to being at a top club.

But despite the difficulties, the former Palace star has admitted that he is loving the challenge of playing so many games in N5.

“I really like it. Just being in the rhythm of always playing games and always competing – that’s the fun part about football,” Eze told Arsenal.com.

“Playing the games and being at stadiums with the fans and stuff like that, I’ve enjoyed that massively. Of course, training is probably a bit lighter than I’m used to because most sessions are matchday-2 or matchday-1, but the games are so important, so I’m enjoying that.”

Kai Havertz’s latest injury means that Eze will now be needed against Brentford, with Martin Odegaard also struggling with an issue.

Eberechi Eze is buzzing for the North London derby

After his hat-trick in the last meeting, it’s no wonder that Eze is buzzing for the North London derby on February 22.

Eze added to Arsenal.com: “Yeah, that’ll be a fun game for sure. These are games that make it so special, the north London derby, so I’ll be looking forward to that.

“Though honestly, the focus is always just on the next game. It’s hard to look ahead because you are always preparing for the next one, and that’s it.”
