Edu Gaspar has sent a touching message to an Arsenal player as the Gunners this week confirmed their first major sale of the summer.
Things have been slow for the north London side since the opening of the transfer window last month, with Arsenal yet to announce a new signing as the only real news involved the release of a number of players.
Yet things are now starting to pick up in the market, with Riccardo Calafiori reportedly close to signing for Arsenal, and the Gunners are also weighing up a move for Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley, as outgoings are also expected.
And Arsenal have managed their first sale this week, with Edu sending a classy message.

Edu praises Mika Biereth as Arsenal confirm £4m sale
Speaking to the club’s official website, Edu showered Mika Biereth with praise as Arsenal confirmed the permanent sale of the 21-year-old striker to Sturm Graz, with reports suggesting that the forward was sold for just £4m.
Scoring 15 goals in all competitions last season and helping the Austrian side win the Bundesliga for the first time in 13 years, Biereth was ‘stunning’ at Sturm Graz last season, who have now paid a club-record fee to bring the Arsenal man back on a permanent basis.

And Edu is seemingly pleased with the development Biereth has made in the last 12 months, with the Arsenal sporting director saying about the Danish attacker’s move: “We are so proud of the progress Mika has made since joining us.
“This new opportunity with Sturm Graz is great for Mika, and it’s a good example of what a strong loan development plan produces. Mika will be playing Champions League football when the season starts again, which he deserves due to his mentality and performances in recent seasons.”

Gunners once again showed their immaturity in Biereth sale
Arsenal have come leaps and bounds under Mikel Arteta and Edu in recent years, with the Gunners one of the best ran clubs in all of Europe and a team with arguably the most exciting project in the Premier League.
Yet when it comes to selling players, the north London side are still yet to really nail that aspect of being a top club, with the £4m sale of Biereth again showing Arsenal’s immaturity in the transfer war room.
The 21-year-old Danish youth international hit 20+ goal contributions last season and won a top-flight European title, and for Arsenal to get just £4m is nothing short if pitiful for the Gunners, who simply have to do better.
