It’s certainly no secret that Arsenal now have several stars worth an insurmountable amount of money in their playing staff.

Perhaps Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice would be seen as the club’s two biggest assets by fans.

Although, all of Martin Odegaard, William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli could also be in that category – it’s not an easy call.

However, the CIES Football Observatory have now attempted to do just that, ranking the worth of all of Europe’s top stars.

And perhaps the most interesting of their estimations is that Gabriel Martinelli is now considered to be worth £128m at Arsenal.

Of course, the club paid just £6m for him back in 2019, representing an outstanding piece of business by Edu Gaspar – who was credited for scouting the Brazilian.

At 22-years-old, Martinelli obviously still has a ton of potential to fulfill, a player who is now embarking on his international career with Brazil as well.

That being said, the ‘frightening’ winger isn’t currently in the most productive era of his time at the Emirates.

Much like most of Arsenal’s faltering front line, Martinelli has endured a lean spell in front of goal recently.

It seems that part of Martinelli’s malaise can be attributed to his position at present.

Although Bukayo Saka often finds himself in central areas, supported by Ben White on the right, Gabriel Martinelli has a more complex situation on the left.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is often inverting behind the winger, meaning there’s added structural responsibility attached to Martinelli’s position.

Moreover, with several players now experimenting in the number eight role next to the Brazilian, it must be hard to find consistency.

That being said, Martinelli is still thriving at Arsenal, and it’s no surprise now he is now considered to be worth so much.

Mikel Arteta will be ecstatic to have a player of his quality at the club, who can go on to be one of the world’s best.

That being said, it could now be time that Arteta cashed in on another one of Arsenal’s wingers.
