Arsenal have had some incredibly talented left-footed players over the years.

Indeed, Mesut Ozil was a top player during his heyday, while, even now, Bukayo Saka is a world-class left-footed option.

Speaking to the Beast Mode On Podcast, Emile Heskey has been building his so-called ‘perfect’ footballer and he picked another former Arsenal player for his left foot.

Indeed, according to Heskey, the player with the best left foot he has ever seen is none other than Robin van Persie.

The Dutchman had a wand of a left foot in his prime, and while his most famous goal ever may have been a diving header, his left peg was something special.

Emile Heskey says Robin van Persie has an incredible left foot

Heskey built his perfect footballer, picking Van Persie for his left foot.

Interestingly, Van Persie wasn’t the only former Arsenal striker who got a mention here, as Thierry Henry was also picked for his right foot.

Heskey certainly knows his stuff when it comes to scoring goals, netting over 100 in the Premier League throughout his career, and he picked a truly incredible mix of attributes when building this player.

Emile Heskey’s record vs Robin van Persie

Heskey is clearly a big fan of Van Persie as a player, but, interestingly, the Dutchman didn’t have an incredible record when playing against Heskey over his career.

Indeed, while Van Persie and Heskey crossed paths numerous times during their careers, the former Arsenal star often didn’t play all that well when facing off against Heskey.

One goal in six games is a return that is unbecoming of a player of Van Persie’s talents, but, for some reason, the striker just didn’t deliver in these games.

He also only won 50% of his games against Heskey during his career, and that isn’t a great points return either.

These two are both great Premier League strikers and they have an interesting record against one another throughout their time in English football.
