The Premier League title race is starting to heat up again as the final few months of the season beckons for clubs aiming to win silverware.

Arsenal are firmly in the chase, with Mikel Arteta’s side on an unbeaten run that gives some hope of catching runaway leaders Liverpool.

The Reds saw their lead cut to four points when Arsenal beat Leicester over the weekend, picking up another important three points – though a game in hand against Wolves played out the following day.

With the Gunners still keen on lifting the Premier League title and snatching it from Liverpool’s hands, there has been a third outside contender for it.

The surprise package of the season, Nottingham Forest, have been in with a small shout of winning the league this campaign – though those hopes were given a huge dent by one former Arsenal star.

Emile Smith Rowe helps Arsenal with goal vs Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have kept up well with the pace of Arsenal and Liverpool early on, but that looks as though it is dropping slightly.

Not least following the defeat to Fulham as the Midlands outfit lost 2-1 at Craven Cottage over the weekend.

Goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Calvin Bassey cancelled out a strike from Chris Wood, handing the London side all three points.

For the first of the three scorers, it’s another goal to his tally in what has proven to be a decent season so far.

The Hale End academy graduate has done a favour for Arsenal, putting a six-point gap between them and Nottingham Forest in third.

It also puts Forest ten points behind Liverpool, with the Reds holding a game in hand over their rivals as well.

How has Emile Smith Rowe done since leaving Arsenal?

Arsenal will be hopeful he can take some of that form into a meeting against title rivals, Liverpool, in April where the title could still be up for grabs.

If Smith Rowe can land a goal or an assist that lands a victory over the Reds, it could open the path for his former side to swoop.
