Arsenal are receiving suggestions about which players they should sign from all corners of the game.
Andrea Berta must have his plans ready already, and we’re sure the groundwork for a few deals has already been laid.
Yet, fans and pundits alike urge Arsenal to sign players who they think will elevate the club to another level next season.
Emmanuel Petit is the latest to have his say.
Which left winger would you most like to see Andrea Berta prioritise in 2026?
Emmanuel Petit wants Arsenal to sign Nico Williams
Arsenal have had Nico Williams on their radar for a long, long time.
The Spain and Athletic Club winger is one of the most exciting young wingers on the planet, and he has been of interest to several clubs.
However, nobody has managed to get him out of San Mames, but Petit wants Arsenal to get him in before the window shuts.
The Gunners legend is adamant that Williams is the player to take the Premier League champions to the next level and believes he is a big upgrade on the left flank.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror (June 28, 2026, page 27), Petit said: “Arsenal were fighting to get him last season. He’s so powerful in terms of dribbling.
“This guy will bring such a huge improvement for Arsenal if they can get him. If he can take Arsenal to the next level, it’s money well spent.”
Williams is contracted to Athletic Club until the summer of 2031 and has a release clause in his contract worth £78 million.

Nico Williams has already revealed his stance on his future
Petit’s suggestion is not a bad one at all.
Williams has all the qualities to trouble opposition full-backs, and he has shown his quality at the highest level for club and country already.
However, the Spaniard has made it clear that he doesn’t want to leave Athletic Club.
Williams said recently: “I am very comfortable at Athletic. The first thing I want to do is repay the affection they have given me this year.
“I would like to see out my entire contract – I’d sign up for that right now – but in football, anything can happen.
“If the club wants to get rid of me, then I’ll have to leave, but if it were up to me, I’d sign up to be there for the rest of my life.”
