Nico Williams has the potential to be an absolute superstar.
The Euro 2024 winner, who is still only 23 years old, is rapid, a phenomenal dribbler, can score and create goals for his side from either wing.
That is why Arsenal have wanted to sign Williams for a few windows now, but their hope of landing him seem to be all but over now.
The speedster have now publicly released a statement saying that he is happy in Bilbao and if it was up to him, he would never leave.
He said, as per Goal: “I am very comfortable at Athletic. The first thing I want to do is repay the affection they have given me this year.
“I would like to see out my entire contract – I’d sign up for that right now – but in football, anything can happen.
“If the club wants to get rid of me, then I’ll have to leave, but if it were up to me, I’d sign up to be there for the rest of my life.”

Arsenal have better targets than Nico Williams
Williams is absolutely fantastic – there is no debate there.
However, if he has no interest in a move, Arsenal won’t worry too much because they have much better players on their wish list.
Work has begun to bring Morgan Rogers to the Emirates Stadium, while a bid is being prepared to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.
There are other high-profile winger targets too, like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Yan Diomande and Rafael Leao among others.
Arsenal fans will be over the moon if their side can get any of them this summer.
