Ethan Nwaneri is ‘ready’ for pre-season return in Instagram message to Arsenal fans

Nwaneri has been given an extended break this summer following his successful exploits in England’s UEFA U21 European Championship victory.

The Hale End star was part of Lee Carsley’s squad that retained the trophy and Nwaneri has been working hard whilst away on holiday.

Ahead of returning to pre-season training and the upcoming tour of Asia, Nwaneri wrote on his Instagram account: “Good work away with the team, ready 🦾”

Nwaneri trusts Arteta and with his future at the club uncertain amid ongoing contract negotiations, the 18-year-old will be eager to impress upon his return.

Arsenal face AC Milan in their opening pre-season friendly and that game possesses an early chance for Nwaneri to stamp his authority on the side and demonstrate that he can be a key figure this season.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has taken to X to share an update on Nwaneri and Arsenal’s ongoing contract talks.

Romano claims that ‘progress’ has been made in recent days and with the Gunners ‘hopeful’ they will get the seal of approval from Nwaneri’s camp soon.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Nwaneri but Arteta and Berta are keen to keep the star at the Emirates for years and have presented their vision to the player.

It is thought that Nwaneri is concerned about his potential pathway to the first-team with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard in his positions but it is clear that the club believe he has the talent to force his way into contention.
