Ethan Nwaneri could be in line for his first Arsenal start in the Premier League this season at Anfield.
With doubts over the fitness of Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka ruled out for up to a month, there are calls for the Hale End star to start the match.
Nwaneri could play in the number ten role but also deputise on the right-hand side to give the Gunners some creativity and flair in the final third.
However, Nwaneri will be hoping that Mikel Arteta didn’t spot a recent training ground incident involving one of his teammates.

Ethan Nwaneri reveals Martin Odegaard embarrassed him in Arsenal training recently
Speaking to Sky Sports alongside fellow academy graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri was asked who the most skilful player in Arsenal’s training sessions was.
Both players immediately answered with Gabriel Jesus, claiming that he had the ‘Brazilian flair’ that impressed his teammates.
However, when pushed further, Nwaneri revealed that he was recently embarrassed by his captain on the training ground with a nutmeg incident.
Odegaard was mentioned as the ‘nutmeg king’ by defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes and when asked whether he had been a victim in training, Nwaneri was honest with his response.
Nwaneri stated: “I have. I get nutmegged a lot though.”
Lewis-Skelly replied with: “It was just clean, it was a clean one.”
Ethan Nwaneri and Martin Odegaard heading for direct rivalry at Arsenal
Nwaneri replaced Odegaard in the recent clash with Leeds and there are some supporters that believe he should be the first choice for the number ten position.
Both players bring different qualities to the side, Odegaard can play in tight spaces and is a leader within the team with his pressing from the front.
However, Nwaneri has shown that he has the ability to carry the ball through the lines and has already scored a few goals from outside the box with his excellent ball-striking ability.
Of course, there is now a third competitor to play in the central role with Eberechi Eze’s recent arrival at the club.
Arsenal missed out on the league title last season as injuries decimated their squad, however, they will feel they have sufficient depth all over the park this campaign.
