Seven academy stars including Max Dowman called up to Arsenal’s pre-season training camp

Pre-season is always a great opportunity for young players to gain experience with the first team.

Arteta has never been shy to call up youngsters from the academy, and seven of them have travelled to Spain for the training camp in La Manga.

Max Dowman, Marli Salmon, Ismael Kabia, Maldini Kacurri, Josh Nichols, Harrison Dudziak and Andre Harriman-Annous are all training with the senior squad in Spain.

Christian Norgaard’s tactical request to Mikel Arteta

Norgaard was confirmed as Arsenal’s third signing of the summer, and he will replace Jorginho in the side.

The Dane’s main role will be to provide cover for Martin Zubimendi and also see out games by coming on as a substitute. But, Norgaard is eyeing a more offensive role at the Emirates.

“I don’t know what the gaffer’s plans are with me, but hopefully I can also have some freedom to join the offensive play,” he said after completing his move to the club.

Albert Sambi Lokonga looks different in Arsenal training

It was a surprise to see Lokonga return to pre-season training at Arsenal, and it is even more unexpected that he has travelled with the squad to Spain.

It is clear that the Belgian is no longer in Arteta’s plans, but until he finds a new club, he will be part of the Gunners’ squad.

After seeing multiple pictures of him, many Arsenal fans claimed that Lokonga has bulked up and looks bigger now.
