Every Arsenal player not called up for June international duty, including William Saliba and Kai Havertz

While Arsenal’s season may be officially over, the campaign continues for many members of Mikel Arteta’s squad, as they jet off for international duty over the next two weeks.

The Gunners won’t return to training until early July, when pre-season commences, before Arteta and his team travel to Asia to face the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle on tour.

Eleven Arsenal players were called up to international duty this month, and all of these will likely be granted additional holiday time before returning late to pre-season training.

Meanwhile, several other members of Arteta’s ensemble are already on their summer break, and should be involved in preparations for the new season from the outset.

With that said, here’s a look at every Arsenal player who didn’t get a call-up for their nations in June 2025.

William Saliba

William Saliba suffered an injury in Arsenal’s penultimate game of the season and subsequently missed the final match of the campaign against Southampton.

As a result of this setback, the Frenchman has been left out of Didier Deschamps’ squad for Les Blues’ Nations League semi-final clash against Spain on Thursday.

Ben White

Thomas Tuchel revealed Ben White was left out of the latest England squad because the Arsenal right-back is expecting a baby during the camp, but also so he can continue building up his fitness.

The defender will have a much-needed summer off to rest and recuperate ahead of the new season.

Gabriel Magalhaes

Gabriel Magalhaes suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in April in a match against Fulham, and he is still recovering from the setback.

Carlo Ancelotti has subsequently left the centre-back out of his inaugural Brazil squad, although he’ll no doubt make his return to the national team under the Italian in the future.

The former Lille man can now focus on returning to full fitness in time for the beginning of pre-season.

Jurrien Timber

Yet another Arsenal defender struggling with an injury issue, Jurrien Timber underwent surgery just before the domestic season ended.

Currently in rehabilitation, the Netherlands have, of course, sidelined the ex-Ajax man for their games against Finland and Malta this month.

Riccardo Calafiori

Riccardo Calafiori has been omitted from the Italy squad ahead of Gli Azzuri’s World Cup qualifiers against Norway and Moldova.

The left-back missed Arsenal’s final match of the season against Southampton with a slight knock, and it’s likely that Luciano Spalletti didn’t include him in his ensemble as a precautionary measure.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Takehiro Tomiyasu made just one appearance for Arsenal in the 2024/25 season, and thus, it’s no surprise that he won’t be involved in Japan’s World Cup qualifying exploits over the next few weeks.

The extent of Tomiyasu’s injury hasn’t been particularly well reported, as it’s not yet clear whether he’ll be available in time for pre-season.

Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey wasn’t called up to Ghana’s squad for their friendly matches against Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago, which have already taken place.

It’s said that the midfielder is carrying an injury, which is why manager Otto Addo left him out of the side.

Partey may instead be focusing on agreeing a new contract with Arsenal, with this prospective deal still said to be in the works.

Gabriel Jesus

Yet another Arsenal star not involved with their national team due to injury, Gabriel Jesus is still recovering from the ACL tear he sustained in January.

If all goes well, Jesus could make his return to action by October, although due to persistent injury issues in recent years, he may find it difficult to hit the ground running without picking up a few niggles here and there.

Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz returned to the pitch in Arsenal’s last two games of the season, after recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out for three months.

However, Germany’s national team manager Julian Nagelsmann has chosen to leave Havertz out of his latest squad to avoid any unnecessary risks of aggravating his hamstring problem.

The 25-year-old will get the summer off to prepare and make sure he’s in perfect shape in time for pre-season.
