Fabrizio Romano hails £21m Arsenal star who is ‘always an important player for Arteta’

Fabrizio Romano was full of praise for one Arsenal star last night after the north London side’s 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich.

Arsenal fought back from 2-1 down to draw 2-2 with the German giants in a game that caused quite some controversy, with Bukayo Saka being fouled inside the penalty box late on by Manuel Neuer, with Rio Ferdinand claiming that a spot-kick should have been awarded.

Although the likes of Ian Wright also argued that it wasn’t a penalty, a good case can be made that Arsenal were unlucky not to come away with a win, especially with Bayern’s two goals coming from their two best chances of their entire game from Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane.

Romano hails Leandro Trossard after Arsenal heroics

Yet taking to Twitter, Romano was full of praise for Leandro Trossard’s performance, the £21m Belgian winger scoring the vital goal that secured the 2-2 result for Arsenal against Bayern on the night.

With Trossard already establishing himself as a clutch big-game player for Arsenal, it’s no real wonder why Arteta is already such a fan of the former Brighton & Hove Albion star.

And last night only saw Trossard’s stock rise with the north London side, with the 29-year-old potentially scoring the goal that keeps the Gunners in the UEFA Champions League.

Indeed, next week in Munich will be a slog for Arsenal, but Trossard’s equalising goal against Bayern could be the difference between progression or another disappointing exit at the hands of the Germans.

Mikel Arteta will hope for more heroics next week against Bayern Munich

Arsenal will feel annoyed having failed in their attempt to come away with a win on Tuesday night against Bayern, especially after the last-minute penalty drama.

And next week in Bavaria, Arteta will be hopeful of more heroics against Bayern from the likes of Trossard, who will be fired up to win that fixture in Germany.

The Gunners have some way to go before they can truly challenge the best in Europe, yet a win against Bayern next week could be what sends the message across the continent.
