Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on what Arsenal plan to do with one of their impressive loan stars.
Arsenal loanee Mika Biereth has certainly caught the eye this season.
The 21-year-old striker is currently on loan with Austrian side Sturm Graz, who he joined in January, having spent the first half of the season enjoying a temporary stint with Scottish outfit Motherwell.
Across those two loan spells, Biereth has managed to rack up 11 goals in 22 appearances, across all competitions. He struck 6 goals in 15 games for Motherwell, before he was recalled by Arsenal. He has since bagged 5 goals in 7 outings for Sturm Graz.
The Denmark under-21 international is highly thought of at the Emirates Stadium. Biereth recently admitted that he was open to leaving Arsenal on a permanent basis in January, but Mikel Arteta was not keen for him to depart for good.
Several Arsenal stars have also taken Biereth under their wing in training, and helped him to develop his game during the brief spells he has spent in north London between loan moves.
Of course, the talented young forward still has a long way to go if he is to stand any chance of ever breaking into the Arsenal first-team. Given his age, and the level he is currently playing at, the odds are arguably against him making the breakthrough at the Emirates Stadium. At the very least, though, the Gunners will be hoping that Biereth can continue to shine on loan in order to drive up his transfer value.

What next for Arsenal starlet Mika Biereth?
There is still a chance that he could force his way into Arteta’s plan, though. The Premier League title chasers certainly haven’t ruled that possibility out.
According to Fabrizio Romano, as quoted by Caught Offside, Arsenal are keeping their options open as far as Biereth is concerned. The reporter stated, “Mika Biereth – This young Arsenal striker is doing very well on loan this season, but it’s still early to say if he can feature in Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans. I still believe he needs some regular game time to develop and grow; Arsenal will take these kinds of decisions in June, not now.”
Clearly, his future will be reassessed in the upcoming summer transfer window, when Biereth will no doubt generate plenty of interest.
Biereth’s full focus now must be on making the most of the rest of his time at Sturm Graz. The club are currently in a race for the Austrian Bundesliga title, and currently find themselves just two points behind league leaders RB Leipzig. No matter what the future might hold beyond then, this season can certainly still end in glory for Biereth.
