Arsenal fans are waiting nervously as they hope that Martin Zubimendi seals a transfer to the Gunners over Real Madrid this summer.
Mikel Arteta has long been looking to transform his midfield ranks, with Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard taking two of the three spots available on a consistent basis.
The missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle is Martin Zubimendi, who is capable of sitting in the deeper role and building attacks from the back.
The Spaniard has long been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium, with expectations rising that Arsenal are expected to sign Zubimendi.
However, with a deal yet to be announced, there have been some recent concerns.
Reports have suggested that Real Madrid are eyeing a hijack of the deal for Zubimendi, causing some panic among supporters.
With those uncertainties swirling around Arsenal, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has looked to clarify the situation.

Fabrizio Romano claims Martin Zubimendi to Arsenal transfer is done
As Real Madrid were linked with a transfer hijack for Zubimendi, fears have grown among the Arsenal fanbase.
That’s despite the fact that all the paperwork is seemingly done, with Zubimendi awaiting an Arsenal medical before confirmation of the deal.

While talk of a switch to Los Blancos rumbles on in the background, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given some insight into the move.
Speaking to DAZN, Romano said on Zubimendi: “Arsenal is expected to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. There was a lot of interest from other clubs, but it was already too late.”
It should put to rest any talk of the move to Real Madrid, given that almost everything appears to be in place for the move to Arsenal.
At this stage, it appears that only a failed medical could change the trajectory of this move.

Arsenal’s midfield rebuild is complete with Martin Zubimendi arrival
Compare and contrast the difference between Arsenal at the start of Mikel Arteta’s reign to now, and there are plenty of changes.
One of the main areas that has been reworked is the midfield, with Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice guaranteeing their place in the team almost every week.
Beyond them, there has often been a mixture of players featuring as the third midfielder, with varying success.
However, with Zubimendi’s arrival, the rebuild is finally complete, and the Gunners have a midfield that will last them for years to come.
