Fabrizio Romano has provided a new key detail in Ben White’s new contract with Arsenal, which is due to be announced shortly.
The 26-year-old defender has been one of Arsenal’s best players since joining the club in 2021, with White evolving from a ball-playing centre-back to a complete fullback out on the right.
The change has pushed Arsenal to new heights with White’s play down the wing alongside Bukayo Saka essential to how Mikel Arteta sets out his team, who currently sit top of the Premier League standings.
Ben White’s new Arsenal contract to include option to extend

And according to Romano, White’s new contract with Arsenal will include an option to extend the deal by one extra year, meaning the defender could be on the Gunners’ books until 2029.
The north London side have made it their mission in recent months to sign up their biggest and best players to long-term deals that will commit the likes of White to Arsenal during their prime years.
And White signing a contract that could last as long as 2029 is huge for Arsenal, who could now be sorted for the right-back position for the next five years.
Indeed, White’s emergence as a fullback has been one of the biggest revelations at Arsenal under Arteta, and the defender committing his future to the club at the age of 26 is big.
Arsenal continue to hit everything out of the park

Arsenal’s contract moves in the last 12 months have been nothing short of extraordinary, with Edu Gaspar and the team working their socks off to secure some major deals.
Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and now White have all committed their futures to the club, with Takehiro Tomiyasu expected to sign a new contract in the coming days as well.
It follows a pattern of Arsenal getting decision after decision spot on behind the scenes, a far cry from how things used to operate in Arsene Wenger’s finals years in north London as well as Unai Emery’s spell.
