It’s typical that Alexander Isak could be on the move after Arsenal finally ended their striker woes.
Mikel Arteta didn’t hide his admiration for Isak last season when the Swede tormented Arsenal in both the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.
The Gunners’ interest in the striker has been well documented, but after Newcastle clinched Champions League football, it appeared that the chance of signing the 25-year-old had passed.
That was until July hit, and Isak made his desire to leave Newcastle known, but by the time the news broke, Arsenal had already signed Viktor Gyokeres.

Finance expert reveals if Arsenal could sign Alexander Isak
Arsenal are overjoyed with the signing of Gyokeres, moving them away from the drama regarding Isak’s future.
Unfortunately for Arteta, his side could still be impacted, as Liverpool want to sign Isak, which would strengthen Arne Slot’s champions quite staggeringly.
Liverpool are yet to make an official move and with Saudi interest there, we’re no closer to learning where the talisman’s future lies.
That doesn’t, however, mean Arsenal should be ruled out of signing the Sweden international, as the Gunners could afford to sign Isak this summer.
The North Londoners’ PSR situation was elaborated on by finance expert Kieran Maguire, who, when talking to talkSPORT, applauded the ‘excellent position’ Arsenal are in.
“Arsenal are in an excellent position; they were in the Champions League last season, they finished top four in the Premier League, their stadium is modern, therefore it has a significant factor in attracting hospitality and corporate customers who pay premium prices.
“They’ve got absolutely nothing to worry about.”
Maguire’s focus then shifted to whether Arsenal could realistically make a move to sign Isak, despite already landing Gyokeres.
“Do we live in a world where Arsenal could raise enough money to compete with Liverpool for Alexander Isak? If they sold Trossard, Nelson, Zinchenko and maybe got Gabriel Jesus off the wage bill?”
“Yes, it will be a footballing decision. If Isak does decide he definitely wants to go, then he will have a number of suitors.
“If he wanted to live in London, Arsenal would be an attractive proposition and I don’t think they’d have any problems whatsoever as far as PSR compliance is concerned.”

Arsenal have full trust in Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal could afford to sign Isak, but it would almost be a disservice to Gyokeres.
The Gunners have already captured one of Europe’s highest-scoring strikers over the previous two seasons, so the motivation to battle for another number nine is non-existent.
Added to that, it would be a potentially distasteful move from Arsenal to seek another striker before Gyokeres has even made his debut.
The money is there, and the PSR legroom is there, but the desire is no longer, with all eyes on what Gyokeres can bring to Arteta’s front line.
