Jamie Carragher doesn’t think Liverpool’s strength is the reason why Arsenal might miss out on winning the Premier League.
Pundits believe Liverpool are favourites to retain the league title after winning the Premier League so comprehensively last season.
After topping the table in his first season as Liverpool manager, Arne Slot hasn’t taken his foot off the gas, bolstering his squad with some world-class acquisitions.
Arsenal have done the same, welcoming six new players to give Mikel Arteta the depth in quality his squad so desperately needed, but is it enough to be top of the table in May?

Jamie Carragher explains why Arsenal won’t win the Premier League
The Gunners have strengthened their starting XI, particularly through the signings of Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi.
According to Jamie Carragher, Arteta stopped Liverpool from signing Zubimendi, who was in line to make his way to Anfield during the summer of 2024.
Carragher is partial to a strong opinion about Arsenal, as many pundits are, with his latest claim one that will rouse fans.
Speaking on The Overlap, the Liverpool icon shared his peculiar opinion on why Arsenal won’t win the league.
“No, the reason I say that is I think there’ll be that much pressure on them in terms of even their own fans,” Carragher said.
“Everyone’s a bit like, he [Arteta] has to win or else. I think they’ve got to be careful with that Arsenal, they’re not putting too much pressure on them.”
Carragher believes that pressure from fans and external figures will make Arsenal crack this season, preventing them from winning the league.
Carragher’s claim is actually more of a problem for Liverpool
The pundit’s statement is almost a bit ironic, as despite there being pressure on Arteta to deliver silverware, it could be said that the expectation on Liverpool’s shoulders weighs even heavier.
Arsenal’s title rivals were already head and shoulders above the rest before strengthening this summer, spending £252m in the transfer window, a figure that could rise.
If Liverpool were to add Alexander Isak to their ranks, surely, it would be considered nothing short of a catastrophe if Slot didn’t deliver the title.
Therefore, naturally, pressure is on for them to live up to their status as favourites, which, in turn, diverts attention from Arsenal.
