Arsenal have had a fantastic start to the new season.

The Gunners are on top of the Premier League table after seven games, and they have won each of their first two fixtures in the Champions League as well.

Opta have predicted that Arsenal are the favourites to win both competitions, which is just incredible.

A number of players have performed well for the North Londoners, but what’s surprising is that a defender has been producing some excellent attacking numbers.

Key stat shows Jurrien Timber is Arsenal’s most creative player

Jurrien Timber has had an exceptional start to the season.

The Arsenal number 12 was brilliant in the 2024/25 campaign as well, but he seems to have reached a whole new level over the last three months.

Recently, Ian Wright hailed Timber’s strength and compared him to a boxer because it’s very difficult for opposition attackers to get past him.

As a full-back, that is his main duty, but one key stat shows that Timber has been creating a number of chances for his attackers as well, more so than the two creative forces in the side – Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze.

According to Squawka, Timber has created eight chances from open play so far this season – no Arsenal player or full-back in the Premier League has managed more.

That is an incredible statistic, and it further shows how good Timber has been since the start of the season.

Jurrien Timber has been Arsenal’s best player in 2025/26

Timber is so underrated in the Premier League.

Most Arsenal fans give him the credit he deserves, but across the country, not many will put him up there as one of the best defenders in the division.

However, Timber is comfortably the best right-back in the Premier League, and so far this season, he has been Arsenal’s best player.

No player under Mikel Arteta has been more consistent since the start of the last campaign than the Dutch international.

Timber is absolutely incredible, and the fact that he is still just 24 means he will get even better in the coming years.
