Arsenal’s title chances have been well and truly crushed with a devastating 1-0 defeat at home to West Ham United.
Mikel Arteta’s side were frustrated from start to finish by a stubborn West Ham side and failed to create any clear cut chances throughout the game. Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring on the stroke of half time.
Mikel Merino could not repeat his heroics from the Leicester victory and was left isolated in the centre forward position, meanwhile Riccardo Calafiori was humiliated in the Arsenal player ratings.
Myles Lewis-Skelly’s red card was explained by the Premier League as his sending off dashed any hopes of a second half comeback but Arsenal fans are laying the blame of the defeat entirely down to one man.

Arsenal fans blame Stan Kroenke for West Ham defeat
Arsenal fans were fuming with the board after a lack of transfer ambition was shown in the January window. The lack of signings has now come back to haunt the Gunners following their defeat at home to West Ham.
Arsenal fans have taken to X to express their anger and blame at the feet of owner Stan Kroenke. One fan wrote: “This defeat is on you silent Stan, there’s no hiding anymore.”
Another Arsenal fan vented their frustration at the American by writing: “Stan Kroenke thank you for doing nothing in January. You’re a pathetic owner. Sell the club please.”
This verdict was provided on the overall ownership of Arsenal from Kroenke as one fan wrote: ” Since Stan Kroenke took ownership of Arsenal, no single major title. We need a new club owner who can take this club forward so that Arteta can excel and be more competitive. Bring back the glory days to the Emirates Stadium. #StanKroenkeOut.”
Arsenal’s defeat to West Ham highlighted painful lack of forward options
Every team can fall behind to a counter attack but what was truly striking about the Arsenal performance was the complete lack of options that Arteta had in order to change the momentum of the game.
Raheem Sterling was the only recognised forward option brought on in the second half and he wasn’t introduced until the 81st minute.

The Arsenal boss somehow has to galvanise his squad ahead of a tough trip to Nottingham Forest before attentions turn back to Europe in the Champions League tie with PSV.
Gunners fans will have little sympathy for the club given their lack of transfer ambition and now face a huge end to the season to put themselves in a strong position to strengthen in the summer.
