Arsenal’s attentions briefly turned away from domestic matters when they found out their Champions League opponents for the last-16 stage.

Mikel Arteta’s side were drawn to face PSV Eindhoven and Arsenal will need to improve their worrying record against Dutch sides.

Arsenal fans are pessimistic following the draw after it was revealed that the Gunners could face reigning champions Real Madrid should they progress past Peter Bosz’s side.

Noa Lang was once an Arsenal transfer target and is set to line up against Arteta’s outfit however, he may not be the only PSV player with the ability to come back and haunt the North Londoners.

PSV set to sign free agent and former Arsenal player Lucas Perez

Ahead of the Champions League clash with Arsenal, PSV are set to sign former Gunners forward Lucas Perez with the Spaniard currently without a club.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto, the Dutch side are set to snap up Perez following his departure from Deportivo La Coruna in January.

Perez had scored four goals and provided four assists in 19 La Liga appearances this season before requesting to depart the Spanish club for personal reasons.

It now seems that the 36-year-old striker is set for a return to football with PSV and could be set to face his former club Arsenal in the last-16 tie.

Perez struggled in his time at the Emirates Stadium

Perez joined Arsenal from Deportivo in August 2016 and spent one season at the Emirates Stadium under Arsene Wenger before returning to Deportivo on loan.

The Spanish forward made 21 appearances in all competitions during the 2016-17 season and scored seven goals whilst providing five assists.

His best memory in a Gunners shirt was scoring a hat trick in the Champions League group stage clash against FC Basel and he was also part of the squad that won the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

However, Perez failed to settle in London and was then loaned out before joining West Ham on a permanent deal. Perez was named as part of Arsenal’s worst XI of the 21st century.
