Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was at the heart of all things dangerous for the Gunners against Southampton.

The Hale End graduate continued his fine form in the final third against the Saints, playing a part in all three goals.

Saka assisted both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli before scoring himself, signing off in style from a remarkable performance at the Emirates.

Already on 10 goal contributions from 10 appearances this season, the Englishman is ready to make the difference for his boyhood club but somehow, not everyone is appreciating Saka’s quality.

Jason Cundy sets Bukayo Saka a challenge at Arsenal

As expected when a player announces themselves to Europe’s elite, talk rises regarding what works and what doesn’t.

Saka has become the topic of conversation on talkSPORT, with pundits Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara discussing whether the Arsenal winger is world class.

Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara previously claimed that Saka is not world class, to which Cundy has now commented on following the winger’s showing against Southampton.

“World class is a huge statement,” Cundy said on talkSPORT.

“Saka is one of the most important players for England and Arsenal. When he gets in that area, he’ll get you out of a hole, he’ll produce some magic.”

The former Chelsea defender then went on to tell Saka what he needs to do in order to fall under the world class category.

“I think his goal contributions are excellent, can he score more goals? Is he capable of getting 20 goals a season?

“If he can get a two in front of everything, goal involvements, goals scored, I don’t see the reasons why he can’t. Right now no [he’s not world class].”

Saka has already passed Cundy’s challenge

By Cundy’s measurement of world class, that he denies Saka meets, the Arsenal winger would fall under such category based on his 2023/24 form.

In all competitions last season, Mikel Arteta’s star winger scored 20 goals, as well as recording 14 assists, contributing to a total of 34 goals for his club.

Similar can be said about the season prior, where Saka contributed to 26 goals, scoring 15 and assisting 11 in all competitions.

Cundy wants to see more goals from Saka, which is what Arsenal fans want from the forward as well, not to determine whether he’s world class or not, but to applaud the sensational player produced at Hale End.
