Gabriel Jesus claims one Arsenal star could convince him into making huge career change in ten-year plan

Gabriel Jesus has now opened up about his future plans after dramatically turning around his Arsenal form.

Gabriel Jesus has enjoyed a sensational week. Having struggled in front of goal for so long, the Brazilian striker has suddenly rediscovered his clinical touch.

On Wednesday, the 27-year-old produced an unexpected hat-trick against Crystal Palace in an EFL Cup quarter-final clash.

Having clearly been given a huge confidence boost by that performance, the former Manchester City star struck twice more against the Eagles as Arsenal travelled to Selhurst Park for a Premier League encounter on Saturday.

Jesus has been heavily criticised this season, but has now shown that he still has something to offer at the highest level.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate for the Brazil international to build on these recent displays and prove that he can score consistently throughout the second half of the campaign.

Gabriel Jesus shares ten-year playing aim

The forward certainly plans on plying his trade at the highest level for a long time to come, though he has now revealed that thoughts about how he might spend his post-playing career have come to mind.

Speaking to the official Arsenal website, Jesus discussed the prospect of becoming a coach and how long he intends to keep playing for.

He said: “I don’t think I would be a good coach. Obviously with the coaches I’ve worked with in my career, maybe I could be a coach, because I’ve learned a lot. But at the same time I don’t know if I could do it.

“I don’t really want to do my qualifications yet, but it’s still early. I’m 27, but obviously you have to prepare yourself because a footballer’s career goes so fast. I think I have at least 10 more years, so at the moment I don’t think I will be a coach.

“Maybe if Jorginho or somebody in future comes to me and says, ‘Please I want you to be my assistant!’ maybe I’ll change my mind, but right now it’s not for me.”

Could Jorginho end up managing Arsenal?

Jorginho is certainly closer to retirement than Jesus. The Italian veteran is in the twilight years of his career, and at 33-years-old can no longer start games for the Gunners week in, week out.

The former Chelsea man has already done some of his coaching qualifications. Jorginho coached an Arsenal youth side as part of this process, and it seems likely that the midfielder will swiftly transition into management or a coaching role after he hangs up his boots.

Arteta has described Jorginho as the most intelligent player he has ever worked with, and clearly appreciates his understanding of the game. Jorginho is part of the Gunners’ leadership group, has mentored younger players in the squad, and can often been seen dispensing instructions on the pitch.

There is a chance that Arteta may offer Jorginho a role in his Arsenal coaching setup at the Emirates Stadium, and the Italy international could even potentially take the helm in North London himself one day.
