Gary Neville thinks Arsenal cannot compete with Liverpool and Manchester City in one position.
Arsenal’s squad depth is outstanding, with there being no questioning that Mikel Arteta has the best squad he’s ever had at the Emirates.
It’s now on the Arsenal manager to deliver with the resources he has, which is the same story for others in the Premier League.
Manchester City and Liverpool are likely to be Arsenal’s rivals for the Premier League title once again, but Neville thinks that the two northern clubs have the edge on the Gunners in one key area: the goalkeepers.

Gary Neville says he’d never pick David Raya over Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alisson
Arsenal had no regrets trading Aaron Ramsdale for David Raya, who has become a force to be reckoned with since making the move from Brentford in 2023.
Though the 30-year-old has shown that he has the quality to take Arsenal to the next level, Neville admitted that he’d never choose Raya over Alisson Becker and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, the Sky Sports pundit shared his belief that Alisson and Donnarumma’s height sets them apart from Raya.
“I like Alisson at Liverpool, I like Donnarumma, I like Raya, but I wouldn’t pick Raya over Donnarumma or Alisson because I love a massive goalkeeper,” Neville said.
“A Schmeichel, a Van Der Sar, it makes a massive difference when your goalkeeper is towering above everyone else, but also when they’re very good at what they do.”
Raya won’t pay too much attention to Neville’s opinion, having beaten Alisson to win back-to-back Golden Gloves.
Donnarumma, on the other hand, is a player the Spaniard won’t want to see line up against Arsenal often.

Arsenal will be so relieved to have scored past Donnarumma
Arsenal fans feared Donnarumma’s move to Man City after his heroics in the Champions League semi-final last season.
In the first leg at the Emirates, Arsenal couldn’t get past the Italian despite their attempts, as the goalkeeper prevented an eye-watering 1.23 goals, making five saves on the night, as per Sofascore.
Now in the Premier League, Arsenal will come up against Donnarumma more than perhaps hoped; however, on matchday five, Gabriel Martinelli finally got revenge on the shot-stopper.
Martinelli scored a sublime goal over Donnarumma to deny the Italy international his second clean sheet in the Premier League.
It was a relief for Arsenal to know that Donnarumma can actually be beaten, with Pep Guardiola landing himself a truly monstrous goalkeeper.
