Kai Havertz got on the scoresheet as Germany thrashed Bosnia-Herzegovina 7-0 in a Nations League clash on Saturday.

Kai Havertz began this season in fine form for Arsenal, and has now impressed on the international stage.

Havertz equalled a Robin van Persie record at Arsenal earlier this season with his goalscoring exploits at the Emirates Stadium. The 25-year-old has now established himself as Mikel Arteta’s first choice striker.

However, that was not the Spanish coach’s initial plan for the German, when he signed him from Chelsea. Arteta tried to convert Havertz into a midfielder, but the player struggled to adapt to this role at the Emirates Stadium.

What German fans are now saying about Kai Havertz

Havertz played as a No. 10, just behind the striker, for Germany against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Many fans of the German national team on X felt that the Arsenal man excelled in this role.

One said: “Havertz as 10 yesterday again world class.”

Another stated: “By the way, I liked Havertz much better yesterday as a number 10 than in all the other games as a number 9 before combined.”

Another claimed: “I’m slowly starting to understand what Kai Havertz is good at. Nagelsmann really does wonders.”

However, other supporters of the German national team on X are far less convinced by Havertz.

One chipped in with: “Havertz is a criminal This idiot robs Musiala of 2 assists that is not normal.”

Another added: “I swear on my mother I am better than Havertz.”

One asked: “Is Kai Havertz the worst long-term starter of the national team in recent years?”

What Kai Havertz has to prove at Arsenal

Havertz has shown that he can be an effective forward for the Gunners, and he offers a great deal in terms of his hold up play, physicality, and intelligent movement. However, he is not the most prolific of goalscorers.

Due to this, Arsenal need to sign a new striker, and the arrival of such a player would change Havertz’s role at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta needs to find a way of getting the kind of midfield performances out of Havertz that Julian Nagelsmann has been able to coax out of him.

The player’s long-term future in North London may well depend on his ability to prove his versatility in this regard.
