Glenn Hoddle is backing Kai Havertz to have a big say in Arsenal’s Premier League title bid when he finally makes his return from injury.

Havertz was back in Arsenal’s squad against Aston Villa, which will have given the whole team a lift seeing such a quality player return.

Change my mind, Kai Havertz’s return can win Arsenal the league.

Mikel Arteta opted not to select the German for the trip to Bournemouth this weekend, but the 26-year-old appears to be closing in on that second appearance.

He suffered a knee injury on the opening day of the Premier League season away at Manchester United and managed just 30 minutes at Old Trafford.

But now he is set to rival Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus to lead the line for the Gunners in the remainder of the season.

Glenn Hoddle backs Kai Havertz to aid Arsenal’s title bid

Kai Havertz’s return is going to have a key impact on Arsenal’s quest to win the Premier League this season, according to Glenn Hoddle.

The former England international believes that the striker remains a ‘key player’ for Arteta’s team and will certainly be utilised during the run-in.

Arteta is now blessed with the chance to select between Havertz, Gyokeres and Jesus to lead the line for his team.

When discussing the quality in depth of Arsenal’s squad, Hoddle told Premier League Productions: “I think they’ve also got a real key player coming back in Havertz.

“I think Havertz will have a big say on that run-in. He’ll be 100 percent fit, and he’ll be used. They’ll need to rotate because of the Champions League.”

The German international has an impressive record for the Gunners playing up front, producing 19 goals and 13 assists in 48 appearances.

Arteta has shown that he is a big fan of Havertz and will be delighted when he is fully fit to start matches for his team.

Arsenal issue Kai Havertz injury update

Havertz missed Arsenal’s trip to the South Coast over the weekend due to ‘load management’, according to Sam Blitz.

The striker’s absence from the squad will have raised concerns over his fitness, but there has been no fresh setback in his return.

After such a lengthy spell on the sidelines, the Gunners will be cautious about rushing him back, and with such a stacked squad at the Vitality, he was left back in North London.

Arsenal’s third-round FA Cup tie against Portsmouth on January 11 could be a good target for the former Chelsea star.
