The German international has a really impressive record playing up front for the Gunners, producing 32 goal contributions in 48 matches.

It comes just at the right moment for Mikel Arteta’s team, with Viktor Gyokeres really struggling against Brighton over the weekend.

The Spanish manager now has four strikers to select from, with Mikel Merino and Gabriel Jesus also among his options.

Ben White is in contention for Arsenal return against Aston Villa

There is yet more positive news as Ben White is also in contention to make his return against Aston Villa, adds Hand of Arsenal.

White suffered a hamstring injury against Wolves and has been missing since December 13.

It was expected that White would be sidelined for one month, but the defender appears to have made a swift return.

Jurrien Timber remains a doubt for the game in N5, therefore, having the England international back available would be a huge boost.
