Arsenal summer signing Kai Havertz has struggled since his arrival from Chelsea in the summer, but he came up with a late goal to secure victory over Brentford.

The German international enjoyed his finest moment in an Arsenal shirt so far as he headed home from Bukayo Saka’s excellent cross.

It was a moment which could end up being a turning point for the 24-year-old, who has been heavily criticised for his performances in a variety of different positions.

Havertz came off the bench to score the late winner, which saw him make an intelligent run into the box before powering the ball into the Brentford net.

He since expressed his delight on Instagram, and many people connected to Arsenal have been quick to praise him.

Havertz took to social media to share his thoughts after his first open play goal, and was clearly happy with how the game went for him.

BIG win on the road!! Thank you for all the support. Another big game to prepare for now,” he posted.

Former Arsenal star Granit Xhaka, who departed this summer ahead of Havertz’s arrival, commented “💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻” on his post, despite having never played alongside his replacement.

Sporting director Edu Gaspar also commented “Yesssssss Kai !!!” and was clearly delighted that his big money signing had finally delivered a big moment.

“My guy” defender William Saliba added, whilst Arsenal legend Ian Wright also commented “Kai ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.”

Could this be a turning point for Havertz?

Havertz’s struggles over the years for Chelsea, and in his first few months at Arsenal, have seen him lose a lot of confidence, and this was reflected in his performances.

Scoring his first goal in such dramatic circumstances, as a last minute winner in a tough game, should hopefully give him a boost to start building up some form.

It is unclear whether his goal has earned him a place in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s Champions League match against RC Lens, but it is clear that his teammates and the club value his contributions highly.
