Granit Xhaka and Vinicius Junior have both recently responded to a social media post from Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus.

Both Granit Xhaka and Vinicius Junior know Gabriel Jesus well. The former from the time they spent together at Arsenal, and the latter from their shared experiences as part of the Brazil international setup.

They were both clearly delighted to see Jesus shining on the Champions League stage once again on Wednesday evening, as the Gunners thrashed Lens 6-0 in a group stage clash. In the first half, in particular, Jesus was electric. He capped his fine display with an excellently taken goal to put the north London club 2-0 up.

Mikel Arteta will be ecstatic about seeing the £45 million former Manchester City man back to his best, as injury issues have hampered his campaign so far. The 26-year-old now needs to build on this performance in Saturday’s Premier League encounter with Wolves. The fact he was taken off against Lens with around ten minutes to go suggests that he is likely to start against Gary O’Neil’s side.

Gabriel Jesus draws praise for latest Arsenal display

Jesus was described by one pundit as being “brilliant” against Lens. The Emirates Stadium faithful all know what the forward is capable of. At his best, he can light up a match, and he also improves those around him. With his flair, dynamism, and work rate, Jesus has the ability to really tie Arsenal’s attacking unit together into a cohesive whole.

Arteta is certainly a huge fan of the player, having previously said that Jesus “changed our world,” shortly after the striker’s arrival in north London, as quoted by BBC Sport.

After the match, the 63-cap Brazil international took to Instagram to celebrate Arsenal’s convincing victory. Former Gunner Xhaka responded to this post with a simple statement of endorsement, “what a player.” Real Madrid star Vinicius also replied, saying “Joga muito,” which roughly translates from Portuguese into ‘play a lot.’ Arteta and the Arsenal fanbase will be hoping to see Jesus play plenty of football from this point onwards.
