Arsenal stance on Gabriel Martinelli injury latest
Arsenal have been handed a fresh injury concern over the international break as Gabriel Martinelli appears to have suffered an issue while on duty with his nation.
The winger, who has recently returned to some form in front of goal, managed to earn a spot back with the Selecao after missing out in recent months.
Despite that, Martinelli complained of some discomfort in his calf while training with the Brazilian squad, coming as a new worry.
After undergoing a scan, the forward showed signs of swelling on his calf, which naturally caused even more panic.
That has left some doubts over his place in the team against Bournemouth at the weekend, though there may be less to worry about than first feared.
Fortunately, journalist Charles Watts shared an optimistic update on the Brazilian’s injury, stating: “I don’t think, from what I understand certainly, that there is huge amounts of fear at Arsenal that this is something potentially serious.
“A late decision will be taken whether he’s fit enough to play against Bournemouth. Arsenal will assess him when he comes back.
“He’s staying in Brazil, they haven’t rushed him home. There isn’t too much concern, certainly from the conversations I’ve had.”

Granit Xhaka praised after Arsenal exit
Granit Xhaka’s career at Arsenal was topsy-turvy, but it’s fair to say that the midfielder left the Emirates Stadium as a hero rather than a villain.
His exit saw him switch the Premier League for the Bundesliga, where he joined Bayer Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso.
The Swiss international helped his team achieve an unbeaten season, beating Bayern Munich to the title and ending their reign of dominance.

With that in mind, the plaudits continue to come for Xhaka after his £21million exit, with former Tottenham star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg joining the chorus of praise.
Hojbjerg told Blick: “Xhaka is one of the very best opponents I’ve played against.
“He has been setting the tone in the national team for more than ten years and is very important for Switzerland and Leverkusen.”
