Several Arsenal stars now have a new National Team manager, as England have appointed German coach Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel replaces Gareth Southgate, and the former Bayern Munich manager is regarded as one of the best coaches in the world.

The German has previously faced Arsenal with Chelsea and Bayern, with his side knocking the Gunners out of the Champions League last season.

Mikel Arteta has now praised Tuchel, and the manager revealed what the reaction of some of his squad was when the news of his appointment broke.

Mikel Arteta highlights potential Thomas Tuchel impact on Arsenal squad

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Arsenal’s trip to face AFC Bournemouth, Arteta highlighted Tuchel’s incredible coaching ability, and claimed that his English players will learn a lot from the German.

“They’re going to learn a lot. I think he’s one of the best coaches in the world in my opinion, without a doubt. His experiences, the way his teams are set up, very exciting times,” Arteta stated of Tuchel.

Arteta then revealed that he has spoken to some of Arsenal’s English players about the appointment, and that they reacted very positively.

“I have spoken to a few of the players and they had a smile on their faces which is always a good sign,” he added.

Which Arsenal players could play under Thomas Tuchel for England?

Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka are typical starters for England, and Rice was particularly coveted by Tuchel before he joined Arsenal last year.

It is unclear if Ben White is open to an England return under Tuchel after his fallout with a member of Southgate’s coaching staff, but Raheem Sterling will also hope to work his way back in.

Sterling has not played for England in over a year, but Tuchel brought the winger to Chelsea two years ago shortly before his dismissal at Stamford Bridge, and he will hope to find his best form at Arsenal to earn a recall.
