Arsenal have several players out on loan across Europe and beyond this season, and some are enjoying successful spells at their new clubs.

Mikel Arteta let several first-team players depart on loan after they fell down the pecking order, whilst a number of talented youngsters also left for more game time.

Some have seen their values increase whilst out on loan as a result of their increased minutes and consistent performances, and Arsenal may even regret some of the deals as a result.

We’ve listed every player Arsenal have loaned out this season, and how they’re getting on so far.

Karl Hein – Real Valladolid

Estonian goalkeeper Karl Hein joined La Liga side Real Valladolid on loan, and he is excelling despite his side’s struggles in the Spanish top flight.

Hein produced an outstanding performance against Nicolas Pepe’s Villarreal, in which he made a string of excellent saves whilst also impressing with his feet.

The 23-year-old is impressing, and so far his loan has been so successful that he could end up having a future under Arteta.

Nuno Tavares – Lazio

Arsenal completely wrote off defender Nuno Tavares in the summer when they loaned him to Lazio with a low buy clause, but they will now regret the nature of this deal.

The left-back has excelled at Lazio, and is on track to beat the Serie A assist record, with eight to his name already.

Tavares earned his first call-up for Portugal as a result of his fine form, and Lazio now believe he is worth a lot more than what they will end up paying Arsenal for him.

Albert Sambi Lokonga – Sevilla

Arsenal sent midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan to Sevilla with an option to buy, in the hope that he would earn a move to the La Liga giants.

However, despite glimpses of brilliance, Lokonga has continued to struggle with injury, restricting him to just five league starts so far.

It is unclear whether Sevilla will end up activating the option to buy for Lokonga at the end of the season, given his slow start so far.

Fabio Vieira – Porto

Many have questioned whether loaning Fabio Vieira back to Porto was a good idea given Arsenal’s creative midfield problems, but it has not been plain sailing for him so far.

The 24-year-old has made just three league starts, providing one assist, as Vieira’s injury issues from last season have continued.

Vieira was criticised in Portugal after Porto were thrashed by Benfica, and there are worrying signs as he faces an uncertain future.

Reiss Nelson – Fulham

Winger Reiss Nelson made a deadline-day loan move to Fulham, where he joined former Hale End duo Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith Rowe.

Nelson has already impressed with his impact in tough games, scoring against Newcastle and providing an assist against Manchester City.

The Englishman has finally broken into the starting lineup in West London, and has put in some electric performances recently, which has Arsenal fans questioning why Nelson was let go in favour of signing Raheem Sterling.

Marquinhos – Fluminense

21-year-old winger Marquinhos is still technically an Arsenal player, but is currently on loan at Brazilian giants Fluminense.

Whilst he has featured a lot, with 28 appearances so far, Marquinhos has scored just two goals, with both strikes coming in the Copa Libertadores.

It appears likely that the winger will remain in Brazil rather than returning to Arsenal once his loan period ends.

Charles Sagoe Jr – Shrewsbury Town

Youngster Charles Sagoe Jr was a surprise debutant for Arsenal in the EFL Cup last year, and he joined League One side Shrewsbury Town on loan.

The 20-year-old has made 15 appearances across all competitions, but is yet to score or assist as he finds his feet against senior opposition.
