Jack Wilshere is and always will be an Arsenal legend with the club at his heart and now at Luton Town, it’s always interesting to look how he is getting on.

Wilshere made headlines recently when he had a very public spat with supporters as the Hatters continue to struggle after their Premier League highs just a few seasons ago.

Nevertheless, Luton do sit 10th in the League One table with a chance of making the playoffs and according to club insiders, Wilshere is very much impressing.

Arsenal fans…who do you think is the happier manager right now? Pep Guardiola, or Mikel Arteta?

How Jack Wilshere is impressing at Luton Town

We’ve seen the work Jack Wilshere has done with the young players at Arsenal and at some point in the future, you’d like to imagine he makes his way back to The Emirates in some capacity.

However, his time now is focused on Luton and according to an inside report from The Daily Mail, Wilshere is very much doing the business.

Behind the scenes, Wilshere has made a start on turning the tanker around. Insiders say the atmosphere at the training ground has improved greatly since his arrival, with players sticking around to play pool and darts after sessions when in recent years they couldn’t wait to get out the door.

When staff called Wilshere the morning after his confrontation, he was already at the training ground. He slept some nights on a bed in his office. His players’ phones ping late into the night with his WhatsApp messages. Staff have asked Wilshere, half-jokingly, if he was seeing his family enough.

He’s ordered striker Elijah Adebayo, out with a long-term knee injury, to report to his office once a week as Wilshere knows only too well the importance of being kept involved when you’re on the sidelines. The night after the Plymouth game, he gave a lecture at the University of Bedfordshire.

With Wilshere still a baby in terms of managerial experience in the game, he is getting a good learning experience at Luton.

The comments here about Elijah Adebayo are interesting as well. It shows Wilshere is using his own experiences for good, while it also sounds like he has come out on top in the battle with supporters.

As expected, it also seems the Luton players like him a lot and the improved atmosphere is telling.

Hopefully, Wilshere can keep steadying the ship and improve things at Kenilworth Road. Luton’s drop off has been extraordinary and it just goes to show how things can change in football.
